The following are as I see them the events that are left in the Bible to happen, these are not necessarily in the correct order, they are my best guess as they all are part of the "end times".
This is not to say that these events are the only ones left, you have to remember that the Bible is only concerned with Israel, what is happening in the Ukraine, or the USA or Japan does not come into the Bible and so you have to remember that other events may also happen at the same time or in-between these events. You also have to be aware that nature is its own force, earthquakes and volcanoes will happen, floods and drought will happen, disease and pandemics will happen, and the majority of the time this will be without mans help, it will just be the laws of nature and physics.
Psalm 83
2: For, lo, Thine enemies do roar, And those hating Thee have lifted up the head,
3: Against Thy people they take crafty counsel, And consult against Thy hidden ones.
4: They have said, 'Come, And we cut them off from being a nation, And the name of Israel is not remembered any more.'
5: For they consulted in heart together, Against Thee a covenant they make,
6: Tents of Edom, and Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,
7: Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with inhabitants of Tyre,
8: Asshur also is joined with them, They have been an arm to sons of Lot. Selah.
A lot of theologians say that this prophecy has already been fulfilled in the wars of 1948, 1967, 1973 etc but read the later verses(9 onwards) and note that Asaph who wrote the psalm says they are destroyed to never rise again, do to them the same as Midian, Gideon destroyed the army, kings, princes and the nobels which you can read this in Judges chapter 6 and they were destroyed so that they never came against Israel again. If this happened in the previous wars then they could not rise and fight again. I believe this will happen before the Ezekial 38 War, Gog and Magog, because those nations have to pass through the areas listed in this prophecy.
So who are these armies, if you follow the news reports today you may be a little bit surprised at the list:
- Ishmaelites - Saudi Arabia
- Tents of Edom, Moab, Ammon - Jordan
- Gebal, Tyre - Lebanon
- Philistia - Gaza
- Hagarenes, Amalek - Egypt
- Asshur - Syria
Obadiah
Youngs Literal Translation : Obadiah There is only 1 chapter in the book of Obadiah, written approx 2600 years ago. In the first 14 verses we have a description of the interaction between the House of Jacob and the House of Esau. For those who are unsure this is the House of Jacob is modern day Israel, and House of Esau is the Arabs who live in the land of Israel. Reading these verses and you can see the same events happening today, but then we ghet to verse 15 and everything changes. Let me say right now, when you see the text "The Day of the Lord is near" you had better sit up and take extra special notice.
Verse 15: "For near is the day of Jehovah, on all the nations, As thou hast done, it is done to thee, Thy deed doth turn back on thine own head." The narative changes, Jehovah, the Name of GOD, has basically said enough, what you have planned and done to my land and people Israel will now be done to you and if you read down to verse 18: "And there is not a remnant to the house of Esau, For Jehovah hath spoken." GOD has spoken and there is no remnant, in other words no one survives. The war with Hamas in Gaza is looking to fall into this scripture.
What we find is that in Zephaniah 1: 7 we have the same timeframe "Near is the day of the Lord". I would suggest that this is the same timeframe and so the same events are being talked about, however in chapter 2 the first 3 verses of chapter are talking to future Believers not Israel. "Seek righteousness and humility so that you are hidden in the day of the anger of God" and then we see the development in the next section below.
Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ekron
Zephaniah 2
3: Seek Jehovah, all ye humble of the land, Who His judgment have done, Seek ye righteousness, seek humility, It may be ye are hidden in a day of the anger of Jehovah.
4: For Gaza is forsaken, And Ashkelon is for a desolation, Ashdod! at noon they do cast her forth, And Ekron is rooted up.
5: Ho! O inhabitants of the sea-coast, Nation of the Cherethites, A word of Jehovah is against you, Canaan, land of the Philistines, And I have destroyed thee without an inhabitant.
6: And the sea-coast hath been habitations, Cottages for shepherds, and folds for a flock.
7: And the coast hath been for the remnant of the house of Judah, By them they have pleasure, In houses of Ashkelon at even they lie down, For inspect them doth Jehovah their God, And He hath turned back to their captivity.
8: I have heard the reproach of Moab, And the revilings of the sons of Ammon, Wherewith they reproached My people, And magnify themselves against their border.
9: Therefore, I live, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, Surely, Moab is as Sodom, And the sons of Ammon as Gomorrah, An overrunning of nettles and salt-pits, And a desolation — unto the age. A residue of My people do seize them, And a remnant of My nation inherit them.
10: This is to them for their arrogancy, Because they have reproached, And they magnify
These are the old lands and cities of the Philistines the ancient enemy of Israel. It is where the Romans got the name Pallestine from after the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple in 70AD, they wanted to wipe Israel off the map and so renamed it as one of the enemy people from the past. It is fairly obvious what God thinks about it from the verses above. This could well be part of the Psalm 83 war above as they are Philistia or they may be before the Psalm 83 war.
Damascus
Youngs Literal Translation Isaiah 17:1 "1: The burden of Damascus. Lo, Damascus is taken away from being a city, And it hath been a heap — a ruin."
Damascus the capital of Syria and the oldest capital city. Some say that this has already happened and the city rebuilt, but others say no it is yet to come to pass. We will wait and see on this one, my thoughts are, when we see a description such as a ruinous heap, then there is little chance of it being rebuilt. But also notice that the verse says, "Damascus is taken away from being a city", it will cease to exist, therefore it will from then on continue to be a ruinous heap, this has not yet happened and so is just around the corner. It might happen during the Psalm 83 war mentioned above, it might be the trigger that starts the Psalm 83 war there is no definative timeline given so we are left with best guess until spiritual revelation is given.
Elam
Youngs Literal Translation Jeremiah 49: 34-39
34: That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying:
35: 'Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Lo, I am breaking the bow of Elam, The beginning of their might.
36: And I have brought in to Elam four winds, From the four ends of the heavens, And have scattered them to all these winds, And there is no nation whither outcasts of Elam come not in.
37: And I have affrighted Elam before their enemies, And before those seeking their life, And I have brought in against them evil, The heat of Mine anger, An affirmation of Jehovah, And I have sent after them the sword, Till I have consumed them;
38: And I have set My throne in Elam, And I have destroyed thence King and princes — an affirmation of Jehovah.
39: And it hath come to pass, in the latter end of the days, I turn back to the captivity of Elam, An affirmation of Jehovah!'
Notice there are 7 times in these few verses where God Says "I Will" and "I Have". You can be certain that this event will happen. Elam is the Persian Coastal region of Iran It is south of Tehran and holds the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant and is on the opposite bank of the Persian Gulf from Kuwait and Saudi Arabia. This is only a very small portion of Iran so we are not looking at the destruction of Persia here, that may well come next in the Ezekial 38 war.
Gog and Magog
Ezekial 38 and 39
2: 'Son of man, set thy face unto Gog, of the land of Magog, prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy concerning him,
3: and thou hast said: Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Lo, I am against thee, O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal,
4: And I have turned thee back, And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And have brought thee out, and all thy force, Horses and horsemen, Clothed in perfection all of them, A numerous assembly, with buckler and shield, Handling swords — all of them.
5: Persia, Cush, and Phut, with them, All of them with shield and helmet.
6: Gomer and all its bands, The house of Togarmah of the sides of the north, And all its bands, many peoples with thee,
There is a lot more to read but I do not need to print it here for this piece, you just need to know the approximate areas where all these armies are coming from.
- Magog, Rosh, Meshech - Russia, Kazakhstan
- Persia - Iran
- Tubal, Gomer, Togarmah - Turkey
- Phut - Lybia
- Cush - Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan
Magog is most likely Russia, which if you notice is the only non muslim nation in this coalition. Notice also that God says He will put a hook in their mouth and pull them down to Israel, God is not going to wait for them to decide, He is dragging them down to the mountains of Israel and God is going to destroy them. This is not a tribulation even, it will take 7 months to bury the dead, it will take 7 years to clear up the destroyed weapons and debris, therefore if this happened in the tribulation we would be cleaning up well into the millennium period and we still have Armageddon.
In the Book of Revelation in the New Testament, Armageddon is the location of the gathering of armies for the last great battle, however Israel does not fight this battle, this fight is won by the Lord Jesus Christ riding on the White Horse as he returns to establish His 1000 year reign. You do not want to be in this army gathering, I am not sure you can sit on a local mountain top to watch.
Zechariah 13: 8-9
8: And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
9: And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
Read these 2 verses and you will see that two thirds of all the Jews in Israel will be cut off, meaning they will die. The remaining third will go through the refiners fire. If that is to happen today, then the population of Israel is 9,039,409 So the number who die is 6,026,273 and the third that remain is 3,013,136 people. Now this is not just the number from 1 or 2 cities, Jerusalem is approx 801,000 and Tel Aviv is approx 432,892 so you can be fairly certain that the death of over 6 million people is going to be country wide, not just 1 or 2 cities.
This is not all that is to happen, there will be more, I have not mentioned Daniel here yet and I am sure there are a few prophecies in that book that need a place on this page. All I will say is, read the last page of the book of Revelation, we win if we hold fast. We are told by Jesus to not fear, all this must happen before the end. If we die in the mean time we will be instantly in Heaven, we win. If we manage to survive to the end we still win and Heaven awaits. Some of you will be shouting, what about the Rapture? We will not be here when all this happens, Jesus is going to take us out of here before all that, then great bring it on, BUT, can you 100% be certain that is going to happen. Many people can also show via scripture that the Rapture is not until the end of the 7 years of tribulation. My Bible does not give a time or date for the Rapture so I have to live hoping and praying that it will be sooner rather than later, but I also have to prepare for it being later. When all is said and done God is still on His throne and in control. If we could not handle what is coming we would not have been born at this time. We have the truth, it has set us free from this and we are told to stand, so stand and watch and praise God anyway.
